Union communications and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday requested Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to consider setting up electronics manufacturing unit in India. Responding to this, Mr Nadella said his “company is looking forward to partner with the Digital India and Make in India programmes of the government.” Microsoft is the world’s biggest software product maker and is a major player in mobile handset manufacturing space after its acquisition of Nokia. Mr Nadella, who was in India to spend his holiday with parents in Hyderabad, met Prime Minister Nare-ndra Modi on Friday. “I have an aspiration that in this mobile and cloud world, we can empower every individual citizen of India and every business organisation and institution in India to be able to try with new technology. So, I am looking forward to be a part of both the Digital India and Make in India,” he added. Source: The Asian AgeImage: flickr.com
